Not only is washing and drying our clothes a timely and costly process, it seems that it’s also much more damaging for the environment than we might have realised.
A 2018 study found that the average UK washing load releases nearly half a million fibres from polyester and more than 700,000 fibres from acrylic.
These fibres then find their way into the marine environment, polluting our waters. It’s a pretty sobering thought, right?
But what if you didn’t need to wash your clothes anymore? What if you could hang them back up in your closet and have them refreshed by the time you took them out again?
It sounds like a prop from a sci-fi movie but bear with us because there is now an actual wardrobe that can do this - and it’s far from fiction.
Enter: The AirDresser - a mini-wardrobe, which refreshes clothes in between washes.
So how does it work?
The AirDresser uses a bespoke Jet Air and Steam system, which sanitises garments and smooths them.
Once they've been refreshed, there's a built-in Heatpump Drying facility which dries them, and a Deodorising Filter, which ensures any bad odours are a thing of the past.
There is room for you to hang three garments at any one time and the refreshing process means you need never worry about anything shrinking or getting damaged.
In short, this futuristic wardrobe is a way of combining looking good with doing good - and means you’ll feel, and smell, your best every day.

And yes, people have actually bought the smart item, one five star review reads: “You can feel fresh whenever you wear clothes from this appliance. No unpleasant smell. No humidity.... And don't need to wash delicate clothes such frequently. Strongly recommend it”
While another states: “I think this is the next generation of cleaning software.”
Sure, it may be pricier than buying a wardrobe from IKEA, but it will also save you time and money in the long run.
As they were always saying on Trinny and Susannah’s What Not To Wear, it’s an “investment piece” - in terms of both finances and the environment.
