A 13-year-old schoolgirl has been invited to the royal wedding
Imagine being 13 today, and getting to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
A dream come true already, right? Now imagine being given an invitation to the pair’s wedding on 19 May.
This is what happened to Leonora Ncomanzi, a Nottingham school girl, who was given an invite by the royal couple after the three of them apparently “hit it off”.
Markle and Ncomazi – who is an aspiring actress – met last December when she paid a visit to Ncomanzi’s school, Nottingham Academy, during which Markle promised her she would return for a private visit.
Honouring her promise, Markle returned earlier this year and spent some quality time with Ncomazi, including giving her a few acting tips.
Afterwards, Palace officials contacted Ncomanzi and the school’s deputy principal, Helen Foulger, to inform them that they could attend the wedding.
“When I found out that I was invited to the wedding, I was speechless. I am so excited,” Ncomanzi told Metro.
“When my Mum was told I was invited she screamed for five minutes.
“Meghan is such an inspiration to me, the first time I met her I asked her if she had any advice for me as I want to be an actress like her.
“She said I should always be prepared to face rejection but to keep following my dreams. I can’t wait to see what she is wearing on the day.
“I have already bought my own dress too.”
Markle and Prince Harry met Ncomanzi as part of Prince Harry’s mentoring scheme, Full Effect, and Ncomanzi said she “can’t wait” to see Markle again.
“I’m looking forward to the wedding a lot, a lot.
“Because I can’t wait to see Meghan again and hopefully she’ll come again to us.”
