Whatever happened to a good old-fashioned mud mask, eh?

Thanks to the magic that is weird beauty trends (and with a helping hand from Instagram), the idea that face masks are made of actual mud – or if you’re feeling really crazy, a peel-off one – is a thing of the past.

The latest being something called a carbonated bubble clay mask, which recently rose to fame thanks to Reddit user ZeApollo‘s hilarious demo.
