Carlton Cole: Chelsea should lead by example against racism
Carlton Cole insists Chelsea need to set the standard in the fight against racism.
Three fans were denied entry to Chelsea's Europa League clash against Slavia Prague after a video of people singing a racist song circulated on Twitter.
It is not the first incident of alleged racist behaviour from Chelsea supporters this season, after four Chelsea supporters were suspended by the club for abusing Raheem Sterling during Manchester City's 2-0 Premier League win at Stamford Bridge on December 8.
Then Chelsea condemned anti-Semitic chanting by Blues fans during the club's 2-2 Europa League draw at MOL Vidi on December 13.
Cole, who started his career at Chelsea said the club need to ‘get their finger out and work with global authorities to stamp out racism.’

The 35 year old said: “I think they have to work with the PFA, UEFA and FIFA.
“If there are some sanctions that have to come into place they might have to lead by example and take the hit sometimes.
“Something is going to have to happen and I think it will happen soon anyway.”
Chelsea have been praised for their swift response to racist chanting aimed at Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah.
Kick It Out hailed Chelsea's quick action in identifying three supporters racially abusing Egypt striker Salah and subsequently barring the trio from attending Thursday's Europa League clash at Slavia Prague.
A statement read: "We have always asked clubs to be swift and proactive when dealing with incidents of discrimination.
"Last night, Chelsea FC did exactly that when presented with evidence of racist chanting aimed at Mo Salah by some of their fans in a bar before the match in Prague.
"The club not only condemned the behaviour, but identified some of the alleged perpetrators and stopped them from getting into the match they had presumably spent a lot of money to go to.”
The Blues will seek to ban the six supporters in a social media video involving racist chants about Salah; the three supporters who attempted to enter the Sinobo Stadium were turned away by Chelsea's security team.
The Stamford Bridge club issued a statement pledging to use all available punishments against those involved.
"Chelsea FC finds all forms of discriminatory behaviour abhorrent and where there is clear evidence of Chelsea season ticket holders or members involved in such behaviour, we will take the strongest possible action against them," read the west London club's statement.
"Such individuals are an embarrassment to the vast majority of Chelsea supporters who won't tolerate them in their club."
