The first trailer for meta-comedy The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee has landed, with 'Hoges' playing a fictionalised version of himself.
The plot is thus; on the cusp of being knighted for his services to comedy, his reputation receives a rather serious battering.
Lampooning his own rise and fall from fame, thanks to the Crocodile Dundee movies, the Aussie actor and comedian finds himself being courted by Hollywood for a comeback.
Japes ensue, one involving the LAPD, John Cleese and the absence of a driving license.

Joining Cleese playing themselves are Chevy Chase, Olivia Newton-John and Seinfeld's Wayne Knight, with stand-up star Jim Jeffries and Luke Hemsworth also making appearances.
Hogan was a huge hit in Hollywood back in the 80s, thanks to the first Dundee movie in 1986, which earned him an Oscar nomination for its screenplay and nearly $330 million at the box office.
Crocodile Dundee II was also a smash two years later, but 2001 comeback Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles was a $39 million worldwide box office disaster.
We'll keep you posted on a UK release date for The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee.
