Yahoo Movies Steven Spielberg isn't directing 'Indiana Jones 5' and movie fans are in shock
News arrives this morning that Steven Spielberg will not be directing the forthcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie, which is set to roll cameras in the next month or so.
It will be the first Indiana Jones film not directed by Spielberg, but it's said that he will remain a hands-on producer of the project.

According to Variety, it was Spielberg's own decision to step aside, with a view to handing on the franchise to others.
Now said to be in talks is James Mangold, helmsman of a great many good movies, from Walk The Line to Logan and, most recently, the acclaimed and Oscar-nominated Ford v Ferrari.

But even though Mangold would appear to be a safe enough pair of hands, for many, Indiana Jones movies are made by Steven Spielberg.

Harrison Ford recently let slip that the movie is to start shooting in 'a couple of months', putting it around April.
So far, nothing is known about the plot, but rumours have previously suggested that it could centre around a fabled train full of gold stolen by the Nazis, which was buried in a tunnel at the end of Second World War.
There's no release date slated for the movie as yet.
