Silent Night sung by Chewbacca is your early Christmas present


It’s the festive gift that keeps on giving, and it’s from everyone’s favourite walking carpet.

Using Chewbacca’s various howls of frustration, indignation, happiness and sorrow, the tune of ‘Silent Night’ is poignantly rendered, accompanied by the Cantina band, aka Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes.

It’s been knocked up by the parody-loving folk at How It Should Have Ended over on YouTube.

However, the idea originated from a musician and web designer called Scott Andersen, who devised the parody album ‘Christmas With Chewbacca’ back in 1999.

It was later pinched without permission and posted on YouTube, where it’s been a festive favourite ever since, garnering nearly two million views.

With the blessing of Andersen, How It Should Have Ended have made a spruced up version with some lovely Star Wars footage to go with it (the Hoth scenes being particularly Christmassy).

And with that, it’s over too Chewie to make the festive season complete…
