New on Prime Video November 2022: Best movies and TV from 'My Policeman' to 'Mammals'

The transformation of Harry Styles from breakout star of the biggest boyband on the planet to movie leading man continues on Prime Video UK this month, when My Policeman arrives.

Styles plays a closeted cop in the 1950s who secretly pursues a relationship with a man, while married to a woman played by The Crown's Emma Corrin.

Elsewhere on the platform, The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco leads a romcom alongside Pete Davidson and James Corden plays a Michelin-starred chef in comedy-drama series Mammals.

New movies coming to Prime Video UK in November 2022

My Policeman (4 November)

Adapted from a novel by Bethan Roberts, this romantic drama stars Harry Styles and Emma Corrin as a husband and wife concealing a secret in the Brighton of the 1950s. Styles's character PC Tom Burgess is a gay man, in a relationship with museum curator Patrick (David Dawson). The trio work to keep the secret hidden, while the story moves forward to meet the characters later in their lives. Linus Roache plays the older Styles, with Gina McKee embodying Corrin's character and Rupert Everett replacing Dawson.

Autumn Beat (10 November)

Spanning three decades, this drama follows the fortunes of two Milan-born brothers trying to work their way up through the rap music scene of Italy. Paco is a gifted performer, while Tito has incredible skill as a writer — but love gets in the way of their path to the top.

La Caída (11 November)

Argentinian director Lucía Puenzo helms this thriller about a woman (Karla Souza) devoted to the world of competitive diving whose commitment to the sport is tested by a terrifying revelation which arrives just before her last shot at securing a chance at the Olympics.

The People We Hate at the Wedding (18 November)

Sibling screenwriting duo Molyneux sisters — who are set to collaborate on the upcoming Deadpool 3 — have penned this comedy in which Kristen Bell and Ben Platt play siblings, reluctantly attending the British wedding of their wealthy half-sister (The Rings of Power star Cynthia Addai-Robinson). Allison Janney plays their mother. Naturally, the wedding is the perfect venue for family tensions to rise to the surface.

Good Night Oppy (23 November)

Ryan White directs this documentary about the incredible journey of the Opportunity rover. Launched in 2003, it was planned for a 90-day mission on the surface of Mars. It survived for more than 14 years and is now considered one of NASA's most successful missions to the Red Planet.

Meet Cute (25 November)

The screenplay for this time-bending romcom appeared on the 2018 Black List of the best unproduced scripts, but has now made it to screens. Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson play a dating couple, but there's a time travel twist when Cuoco's character discovers a time machine she can use to travel back and "fix" elements of their dates.

In the wake of the success of time loop romcom Palm Springs recently, this could be another fun ride.

New TV shows coming to Prime Video UK in November 2022

El Presidente: The Corruption Game S2 (4 November)

This satirical comedy series set within the world of FIFA returns for a second season, this time exploring the organisation's rise to supremacy under former president João Havelange.

Judy Justice S2 (7 November via Freevee)

Judge Judy delivers more of her savage courtroom insights with new episodes of her show for Freevee, having won an Emmy for its first season. Freevee's flagship original show is back, with the streamer allowing her to take on cases worth as much as $10,000 (£8,700).

Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 (9 November)

With an all-star line-up of famous faces and models, this fashion spectacular is back for a fourth consecutive year. It showcases all of the best new looks from Savage X Fenty — Rihanna's inclusive lingerie brand.

A Grito Herido S1 (11 November)

Four friends and their singing teacher achieved promising early success as a covers band until a behind-the-scenes fight split them up. Seven years later, they reunite for one of the group's wedding, and the fault lines in their relationships are soon revealed.

Mammals S1 (11 November)

Acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Jez Butterworth has penned this six-part comedy drama in which James Corden plays a Michelin-starred chef who discovers a dark secret about his pregnant wife. He teams up with his brother-in-law to investigate, but this only illuminates problems in that marriage as well. Sally Hawkins, Melia Kreiling and Colin Morgan star alongside Corden.

Play-Doh Squished (weekly from 11 November via Freevee)

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland fronts this competition series, in which families fight it out to produce the best Play-Doh creations.

Rio Ferdinand’s Tipping Point (11 November)

This three-part series follows former Manchester United and England footballer Rio Ferdinand as he delves into some of the biggest social issues in football today. The first episode focuses on the problem of racism at football grounds; the second explores why there isn't an openly gay Premier League footballer and the third delves into the sport's mental health crisis at academy level.

Leverage: Redemption S2 (16 November via Freevee)

This revival of the action-crime show Leverage returns for a second run, with the team continuing to work to take down rich criminals.
