Everyone is horrified by the nightmarish trailer for 'Cats'
The trailer for Cats has landed. And it's gone horribly. Horribly.
Every bit as bad as it could have.
In fact, it's made the first glimpse of the creepy Sonic The Hedgehog, who now has legs and hands and teeth, look like rampant Oscar bait by comparison.
It's been called 'an abomination'. A 'demented dream ballet'. Even the most charitable viewer in the world would concede that it all looks amazingly weird.
The trailers for “It 2” and “Cats” dropped today and I’m not sure which one is more terrifying.

I don't know why you're all freaking out over miniature yet huge cats with human celebrity faces and sexy breasts performing a demented dream ballet for kids.

This is director Tom Hooper's take on Andrew Lloyd Webber's feted musical, based on TS Eliot's poem collection Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.
But all the stars in the world – and there are ever so many here – have failed to quell the furry horror.

Idris Elba, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Rebel Wilson, James Corden, Sir Ian McKellen, Jason Derulo and Dame Judi Dench star as the Jellicles, the troupe of cats at the centre of the action.
But why are they so small? Cats are simply not this size.

The reaction – perhaps even revulsion – that's been spawned by the trailer has gone as viral as anything we can remember.
The director of Sonic has literally gone back to the drawing board to redesign his lead character, but we fear Cats is rather far gone for that.
It lands, hopefully on its feet, on December 20.
And until then, you can watch Idris Elba and Taylor Swift learning some of the key dance moves for the film in the featurette below.
