Leonardo DiCaprio Lookalike Makes Acting Debut
After it emerged that Oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio had a doppelganger, he’s now made his very own acting debut in a bizarre advert for Russian television.
The ad that last just under a minute, is a strange but sort of wonderful tribute to the Hollywood actor, as we see lookalike Roman Burtsev, a 33-year-old security guard, assume a role that, without making direct reference to the ‘The Revenant’ star, gives us the clear indication that we’re seeing a version Leo.
After partaking in a number of publicity events and to a shrewd PR company that represents him, Burtsev’s now landed his first advert which is for Pyat Ozer vodka.
Watch the full advert below in all its glory.
According to Roman’s Instagram, he’s been rather busy man, making various appearances and seemingly forging something of a career out of his facial resemblance to A-lister DiCaprio.
In various snaps, he’s dressed up as bloodied and battered Hugh Glass (from ’The Revenant’) and even filmed a recreation being attacked by a bear; posing in a tuxedo, ready for a mock-up Oscars ceremony; and even appearing in shopping centres doing the whole ‘Jack and Rose on the boat thing’ a la ‘Titanic’.
With the narration, the advert does, however, explain itself pretty well. The focus is obviously on fakeness, as the voice over suggests. We’ve a fake Leo, fake iPhone, fake BMW, and a fake model girlfriend - all the real world amenities Leo himself often associates with.
And if Burtsev can make a living out of sharing a similar face to DiCaprio and embracing the fakeness, then fair play to him.
