Jurassic World 2 could have a HUGE budget
Spare no expense… when it comes to ‘Jurassic World 2’.
According to /Film, ‘Jurassic World 2’ director J. A. Bayona has revealed the eye-watering budget for the upcoming sequel. And you won’t believe how much it is.
“The director has revealed that the Jurassic World 2 budget will be $260 million,” they revealed, “which is more money than most of us will ever see in our lifetime.”

Of course, ‘Jurassic World’ dominated the box office last year with its impressive, record-shattering run, becoming the first film to make $500 million in its opening weekend. But with a budget of $150 million, it’s still $110 million shy of the sequel’s budget.
At least, according to reports.
The original report came from print magazine El Pais Semenal, which made its way online thanks to JurassicWorldES. But while the director is reported to have disclosed the absolutely staggering $250 million budget, it looks as though it may have been a case of crossed wires.
“A reliable source in the Jurassic World camp has revealed to us that J.A. Bayona did not reveal the budget for Jurassic World 2,” reports /Film. “In fact, development hasn’t even reached a point where a budget can be finalized, though our source said that the budget will not be anywhere near $260 million.”
“Despite the fact that this was a tangible print source, the information about the budget was either misinterpreted or fabricated.”
Obviously, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating that the increased budget may mean more practical sets and effects for the big-budget spectacular. And to be honest, it could end up being money well spent… that is, if it gets a bigger budget than the original.
Will ‘Jurassic World 2’ get anywhere near the $250 million mark?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But it’s likely to see a lot more investment than the first movie. After all, the studio knows it’s got a hit on its hands. And life will find a way.
‘Jurassic World 2’ heads to cinemas on 8 June 2018.
