Jason Statham absolutely nails the 'Bottle Cap Challenge'
We all know Jason Statham is a man of many talents, but few could have predicted that The Stath’s skills would stretch as far as undoing bottles with a roundhouse kick.
The Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw star has taken part in a new craze sweeping social media called the Bottle Cap Challenge, and like Olympic Diving and music video gyrating before it: it’s a skill he’s immediately mastered.
In a new post on his official Instagram account Statham, 51, can be seen expertly spinning the lid off of a glass bottle with just the delicate touch of the sole of his shoe, as it flies by, gently grazes the metallic rim of the lid,
It’s a work of poetic beauty that demonstrates the star’s dexterity and grace in glorious slow motion, that deserves to be scored to ‘Also Sprach Zarathustra’ and projected onto the side of the Houses of Parliament.
Watch it below.
Statham says he was incited to take part in the social media craze by singer-songwriter John Mayer, and has set the challenge to director Guy Ritchie and retired American mixed martial artist James Moontasri.

The viral challenge was started on 28 June by current UFC Featherweight champion Max Holloway, who shared a video of himself doing the stunt on Twitter. He passed the challenge on to Mayer, who passed it on to Statham, inspiring a huge online craze of people trying to complete the roundhouse kick.
UFC fighter Conor McGregor also completed the challenge successfully, inviting former opponent Floyd Mayweather to have a crack himself.
Excellent job Jason Statham, I tip my cap to you.
I’ll take it from here.
I nominate Floyd Mayweather. @properwhiskey pic.twitter.com/9IrFUXyehx— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) July 1, 2019
We wholeheartedly support the Bottle Cap Challenge, and won’t rest until Jackie Chan, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Arnold Schwarzenegger have all successfully completed it.
Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw is in UK cinemas from 1 August.
