James Bond returning to video games after eight years with 'Project 007'
James Bond is finally set to return to the world of video games with Project 007, made by the team behind the Hitman series — and it will be an “origin story”.
The upcoming project will be the first Bond game to be made since the poorly-received 007 Legends way back in 2012, which was released to tie in to the 50th anniversary of the Bond films.

Danish company IO Interactive announced the game today with a teaser video posted to social media, which links to a website with further information.
The company stated: “Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into the shoes of the world's favourite secret agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story.”
Despite the disappointment of 007 Legends, James Bond video games have proved to be popular and beloved over the years.
1997 outing GoldenEye 007 for the N64 is considered a landmark title in the history of first-person shooters, while 2002 game James Bond 007: Nightfire was also very well-received.

IO Interactive and Bond is such a perfect pairing that it's honestly one of those things I've never thought about but instantly makes sense.

The fact that we as a collective species manifested a new 007 game from IO Interactive after years of saying “they’d make a great Bond game” is really something incredible. #Project007 pic.twitter.com/J0uExdfFqZ

Okay, I didn't expect the Hitman devs doin' a James Bond 007 game. But it's interesting, I mean there aren't many good games of that franchise, despite being there since ages and IO Interactive with all the Hitman experience is the perfect studio for that endevour, can't wait! https://t.co/ZTrO3Tkr1f

MGM is reportedly losing almost a million pounds every month as Daniel Craig’s 007 swansong sits on the shelf and rumours have swirled about the prospect of the movie heading to a streaming service.
This speculation is likely to intensify in the wake of Wonder Woman 1984 heading to HBO Max.
