Hugh Jackman may have stayed as Wolverine to join The Avengers
Could Hugh Jackman be convinced to stay as Wolverine?
It’s no secret that Hugh Jackman is leaving the role of Wolverine behind him after the upcoming ‘X-Men’ spin-off, ‘Logan’. But the fan-favourite admits that there’s one thing that would have convinced him to stay – appearing onscreen alongside Iron Man and The Hulk.
“If that was on the table when I made my decision, it certainly would have made me pause. That’s for sure,” he told Screen Rant. “Because I always love the idea of him within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man but there’s a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out [laughter]. You never know.”

Of course, he’s not the only one who would love to see that happen.
Comic book fans have long prayed for Marvel and 20th Century Fox to come to some sort of agreement… and with Spider-Man entering the mix in ‘Captain America: Civil War’, some hoped that an ‘X-Men’ team up would eventually become a reality.
But while the 48-year-old Wolverine actor has spent years lobbying for an X-Men/Avengers team-up, it looks as though that’s not going to happen. At least, not with Hugh Jackman as the legendary Wolverine.
‘Logan’ stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, alongside Dafne Keen, Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant and Eriq La Salle.
James Mangold directs based on a script he co-wrote with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
‘Logan’ heads to cinemas on 1 March 2017.
