A 'Friends' revival? It could happen, says Jennifer Aniston
Friends fan rejoice! A revival is possible, at least according to Jennifer Aniston.
The actress is InStyle’s September issue cover star, and in a revealing interview Jennifer admitted she often muses about a potential Friends revival, “Courteney, Lisa and I talk about it. I fantasise about it. It really was the greatest job I ever had,” Aniston said.
“I don’t know what it would look like today, but you never know. So many shows are being successfully rebooted,” she added.
Indeed, a Friends revival would be in good company, as a host of revivals have been made in the last years and several reboots of popular 90’s and 00’s shows are in the works.
We’ve had revivals of Arrested Development, Gilmore Girls, Will & Grace, Queer Eye – just to name a few – and reboots of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are in the process of being made.
In the candid interview, Aniston even said she’d be willing to persuade the entire Friends cast to join a revival: “I know Matt LeBlanc doesn’t want to be asked that question any more. But maybe we could talk him into it. ”
She then joked that if not everyone was up for returning, she and her female Friends co-stars could do a Golden Girls reboot, “Or we just give it some time and then Lisa, Courteney, and I could reboot The Golden Girls and spend our last years together on wicker furniture.”
Aniston also touched on the media and societal pressures to have children, “There is a pressure on women to be mothers, and if they are not, then they’re deemed damaged goods. Maybe my purpose on this planet isn’t to procreate. Maybe I have other things I’m supposed to do?”
Aniston’s upcoming projects include the Netflix movie Murder Mystery with Adam Sandler.
