Sky Cinema to launch new films featuring Florence Pugh and Adam Driver
Sky looks to take on streaming giants Netflix and Disney
Sky Cinema has announced an impressive slate of films for 2023 including movies that feature Florence Pugh, Adam Driver and Julianne Moore.
Unveiled today, Sky is looking to take on streaming giants such as Netflix and Disney with an increase in original and exclusive offerings with over 100 films to appear on the network and its streaming service NOW in 2023.

The most high profile of the films in the announcement is Michael Mann's Enzo Ferrari biopic starring Adam Driver as the automobile entrepreneur.
The film – simply titled Ferrari – will also star Penelope Cruz, Jack O'Connell and Shailene Woodley. It is Mann's first film in eight years and is also set for a limited cinema release in the UK.
Sky will also be the home of acclaimed director Todd Haynes' new film May December which stars Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore.
Already announced for Sky's slate was A Good Person directed by Zach Braff and starring his ex-partner Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman.
Julia Stuart, director of original films at Sky, said in a statement: “From a Jim Henson fantasy adventure that promises you pure escapism to a gut-wrenching drama about Lee Miller’s life starring the masterful Kate Winslet, our Sky original offering on Sky Cinema truly has something for everyone. We’re hugely excited to share with you a whole host of exclusive content from our 2023 slate.”
Sky's original movies brand launched in 2018 and a year later launched an in-house production studio.
Some of the most notable films released as Sky Originals include the action film Final Score starring Dave Bautista, serial killer drama Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and a modern day take on the story of Oliver Twist featuring Michael Caine.
