Disney unveils UK release date for streaming platform Disney+
Disney+, the new streaming platform from Disney, will launch in the UK on 31 March, 2020, the studio has confirmed.
It comes following months of uncertainty over a date for the UK launch, which will come months after the platform arrives in the US.
Disney+ has had a US launch date of 12 November since the platform was first announced earlier this year, but Disney's existing deals with Sky are thought to have held up the process for the UK and other European countries.
As well as the US, it will launch in the Netherlands on the 12th.
What this means for Disney Life, the UK’s current Disney streaming service, remains unclear.

This means that while British Star Wars fans are keen to see the new Jon Favreau series The Mandalorian, based around the murky world of bounty hunters, they'll have to wait until March to see it legally.

Disney is unleashing a vast amount of its catalogue of TV shows and movies onto the platform, in a bid to take on other streaming services like Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Netflix.
It is also unveiling brand new content too.

Marvel is making a number of TV series based on characters including Loki, Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Hawkeye, while a second Star Wars spin-off series, with Ewan McGregor reprising his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, is currently in development.
Outside of its major cinematic franchises, there will also be content from National Geographic, with Jeff Goldblum fronting new show The World According To Jeff Goldblum.
Last month, Disney released a three-hour plus video to YouTube detailing all of the movies and TV shows that will sit on the platform.
