A Different Man stars Sebastian Stan and Adam Pearson have recalled filming the movie's fight scene, calling it a "chaotic" sequence.

The dark comedy thriller - now playing in UK cinemas - sees Stan play aspiring actor Edward, who undergoes a radical medical procedure to drastically transform his facial appearance.

"But his new dream face quickly turns into a nightmare, as he loses out on the role he was born to play and becomes obsessed with reclaiming what was lost," the official synopsis teases.

In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, the two actors opened up on the film's fight scene and their concerns when filming it.

"It's a fight scene, and you don't want anyone to get hurt, right?" said Adam Pearson, who plays Edward's acting rival Oswald.

Referencing a pivotal part of the fight scene, when the ceiling and lights fall down on them mid-brawl, Stan explained that there wasn't an opportunity to rehearse this prior due to logistics.

"Basically it was the thing you see in the movie is the first time that that happened," he said. "And so it was, everyone felt lucky that we got it. But yeah, it was intricate.

"It was a heavy, emotional scene, and you want to make sure you get it right. And sometimes when you're under pressure, it actually helps."

Despite the risk, Stan thinks this helped the fight "feel as realistic as possible", with Pearson adding it gave it a "chaotic" feel.

"These are not experienced [fighters]," the Marvel actor said of the two characters. "Edward never fought in his life. I mean, he shouldn't look like he knows."

Pearson told Digital Spy how he was counting down to filming the fight scene - out of worry.

"This was the one I had marked on the calendar," he said. "My alarm went off on my phone, and it came up: you're fighting Bucky today. And I went ‘Oh, you're gonna die today, Pearson’.

"There were so many moving parts to it as well, because I gotta put my hand in the right place, do the right thing, jump over the sofa, then everything like happens with the lighting, and I have to start crying… Oh my god! There was so much going on in the scene."

A Different Man was released late last month in the US and has proven to be a hit with critics, debuting on movie aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes with an 89% 'Fresh' rating.

The film was released in the UK yesterday (October 4).
