Cary Fukunaga provides 'James Bond 25' update

Cary Fukunaga has taken to Instagram to reveal that shooting in Jamaica on James Bond 25 has come to an end and it will now move onto its next glamorous location.

The director, who has replaced Spectre and Skyfall’s Sam Mendes in the position, added the tantalising caption of, “It’s a wrap on Jamaica, next up …” Unfortunately he stopped short of actually revealing where production is moving onto next, though. Previous rumours have alleged that filming on Bond 25 will take place in Italy, London and Norway.

Bond 25 is widely believed to be Daniel Craig’s final performance as 007. Ralph Fiennes, Rory Kinnear, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright and Naomie Harris will return, while the film will also feature Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, and the Oscar winning Rami Malek as its villain.

Meanwhile, Phoebe Waller Bridge, the creator of both Fleabag and Killing Eve, has been brought in to rewirte and add more humour to the script, the plot of which is, “James Bond has left active service when his friend Felix Leiter enlists his help in the search for a missing scientist.”

“When it becomes apparent that they were abducted, Bond must confront a danger the likes of which the world has never seen.”

Fukunaga, who rose to prominence because of his work on the first season of True Detective, has been rather good at sharing images from the set of James Bond 25, uploading several behind the scenes pictures a week.

So make sure you keep glued to his Instagram as production on Bond 25, which is set to take several more months to complete, unfolds.

The still untitled film will finally be released in the UK on April 3, 2020.
