The Bond 25 script is being 'endlessly re-written'

The script for Bond 25 is being 'endlessly re-written' by various people on the production, and even Daniel Craig himself, according to a new report.

As was recently reported, Fleabag writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge had ben drafted in to re-work some elements of the story.

And then yesterday, she told The Hollywood Reporter that she was specifically asked to make the women in the movie 'feel like real people'.

“It's really exciting. The film they've got is such an exciting story. It's just been a joy to work on,” she said.

“I think Daniel's films have had really fantastic Bond girls, so it's just keeping it up.”

However, this appears to be just the tip of the iceberg.

The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye, who has been breaking Bond stories for years, says that Craig is also involved in re-writes, as is director Cary Fukunaga.

That's added to the original story, which has been penned by Bond veterans Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and a reported 'polish' done by Scott Z. Burns, who wrote The Bourne Ultimatum.

And it's not known whether any elements of John Hodge's script remain from when Danny Boyle was directing the movie.

This is all going on while the film is being shot too, with scenes having already been filmed in Norway.

A source told the Mail: “[Waller-Bridge] is writing a re-write of a re-write. Daniel’s writing. Cary’s writing. The crew reckon they’re working on a well-polished s*** show.

“They have an outline of plot, but dialogue is all last-minute. It’s not the way to make a movie. I would imagine they’ll sort it out in the cutting room. That’s where most movies get made anyway.

“But you’d think the Bond lot would be more together.”

The development of the movie has been far from plain sailing.

Following the making of the last movie Spectre, Bond star Craig said that he'd 'rather slit his wrists' than make another 007 film.

And while that was in response to the question of whether he'd do it all again, asked just after completing a lengthy, multi-location shoot, Craig was clearly somewhat weary.

But after agreeing to return for his swan song, the production has hit further snags.

Danny Boyle was hired for the job, with his long-time movie making partner Hodge writing the script, but he parted ways with Bond producers Eon last August.

It was said that he wanted to kill off Bond at the end of the movie.

Fukunaga, the director of the first series of True Detective, then took over in September, the first American to direct a Bond movie.

Shooting in Jamaica, Norway, Italy and London, and with Rami Malek now confirmed as the movie’s villain, it’s due out in April, 2020.
