What's been surprising about Memphis football's 4-1 start to the 2024 season?

Memphis football got back on track with a win over MTSU, and now the Tigers have a bye week before heading to South Florida.

Saturday's win over the Blue Raiders was important because it allowed Memphis to move past a rough loss to Navy. It was also a bounce-back performance for the defense, which allowed only seven points and forced two turnovers.

Tigers football beat writer Jonah Dylan and Tigers basketball beat writer Jason Munz recap the MTSU game, talk through quarterback Seth Henigan's start to the season and take an early look at next week's game against the Bulls. Dylan and Munz also react to Memphis athletic director Ed Scott's comments last week after the news that Memphis had chosen to stay in the American Athletic Conference and reject an offer from the rebuilt Pac-12.
