Weather for Buffalo game vs Panthers: Preseason game forecast for Aug. 24

Beautiful weather is on tap when the Bills Mafia descend on Highmark Stadium for the final preseason game of the season against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The game will help decide who gets cut and who makes the Buffalo Bills’ 53-man roster before the season begins. Positions still to be determined include backups at offensive line, edge rusher and linebacker.

Whoever does or does not make the roster won’t be determined by weather conditions on Saturday, with mostly sunny skies and pleasantly warm temperatures in the forecast.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo forecast calls for 78 degrees and mostly sunny skies at kickoff at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Orchard Park. Relative humidity will hover around 50%, leaving conditions comfortable and a heat index the same as the air temperature. There’s no chance of precipitation, lending itself to ideal late summer conditions for Bills’ postseason capper.

The AccuWeather forecast is similar, calling for 77 degrees at kickoff and RealFeel temperature, a measure that factors in humidity, sun and other factors, of 83 degrees. Winds should be mild and out of the west-southwest and wind gusts up to 10 mph. The UV index is forecast to be high at 1 p.m. but drop to moderate during the game.

  • The last regular season matchup between the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills was in December 2021, which saw the Bills emerge victorious, 31-17. Josh Allen was 19-34 for 210 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception.

  • The Bills game will be on local CBS channels, including WROC (Channel 8) in Rochester, WIVB in Buffalo and WTVH in Syracuse. Andrew Catalon, Steve Tasker and Maddy Glab will call the game.
