Tyreek Hill fantasy impact: What Dolphins star says about thumb, Jaylen Waddle
MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill has a message for fantasy football participants concerned about his thumb injury.
"I'm fine man, I'm fine," Hill said Monday. "I just needed some days off. That's it. I'm fine man. I'm healthy. All my fantasy, draftees, draft people, I'm fine. A-OK. 100%. I just wanted to troll y'all a little bit."
Hill, 30, has more than 1,700 yards receiving in each of his two years with Miami.
"We got a lot of weapons, a lot of playmakers on this team, man," Hill said. "So, everybody's, you know, on the very edge of their seats, man, just waiting for this moment. I think these three days that we had off, all I could think about was just lining up, playing alongside of the guys on offense."
Hill thinks this team can do something special, starting with Sunday's opener against the Jaguars.
"I'm very excited, man," Hill said. "Every year is another opportunity, man, to win games and you know create memories, man, like with you know, a great group of guys and you said it, like this is our best team that we done had since we've been here. So what a time to be alive man, be a Dolphins fan."
Tyreek Hill injury update: Thumbs up, he says
Asked about sidelined teammate Odell Beckham, Jr., Hill said he hasn't seen him.
"I ain't seen Odell in about a week, boy," Hill said of OBJ, who will miss at least the first four Miami games with an unspecified injury. "I wasn't supposed to say that or what? See when he asked me, it kind of like caught me off guard and I'm like, I'm from the South. I'm going to say the first thing that comes to my mind. I'm still learning how to do it."
Hill likes to joke around and have fun. So it's not entirely clear. But his initial reaction to the question is not entirely promising. Hill did later credit OBJ for helping build team chemistry with group outings.
He also later said that he has actually seen OBJ.
With or without Beckham, Miami's offense should be explosive again.
Tyreek Hill fantasy: Dolphin high on Jaylen Waddle
Hill projected an All-Pro future for receiver Jaylen Waddle.
"He's taking his game to another level in the classroom," Hill said. "He's taking it more serious. He's moved to the back of the classroom with me and River (Cracraft), so he's sitting beside us now. Eager to get better."
