Texas football: Arch Manning throws first collegiate TD vs. Colorado State
With Quinn Ewers clocking out early for Texas football on Saturday, Arch Manning quickly put on a show at Royal-Memorial Stadium.
Manning, the famed back-up quarterback on the Texas depth chart, entered UT's season opener against Colorado State in the third quarter after Ewers had helped the Longhorns build a 38-0 lead. After receiving hearty applause as he jogged onto the field, Manning quickly found receiver Johntay Cook II for a 40-yard gain.

Later in the drive, Manning scrambled and flipped the football to Oregon State transfer Silas Bolden, who then dived into the end zone. The 5-yard score accounted for the first touchdown pass of Manning's collegiate career.
That touchdown gave Texas a 45-0 lead with 2:23 left in the third quarter.
