Tennessee baseball's College World Series game vs Florida State delayed Wednesday
OMAHA, Neb. − Tennessee baseball's game against Florida State in the College World Series will start later than scheduled Wednesday.
The Vols (57-12) will face Florida State (49-16) at 3:45 p.m. ET (ESPN) because Florida's 15-4 win against Kentucky ran long in the opening game. The NCAA mandates a minimum of 65 minutes between CWS games. The game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. ET then rescheduled for 3 p.m.
Tuesday's game between Florida and Kentucky was postponed from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning due to expected bad weather, which pushed back Tennessee's game as a result. The Gators and Wildcats began an elimination game at 11 a.m. on the opposite side of the CWS bracket from Tennessee.
The Vols opened 2-0 in the College World Series for the first time in program history. UT beat Florida State 12-11 on Friday and then dropped North Carolina 6-1 on Sunday. FSU remained in the bracket by beating Virginia 7-3 on Sunday and North Carolina 9-5 on Tuesday.
