George Pickens is locked in on the task at hand. And he should be. He's about to take an essential role for the first time in his NFL career: WR1.

Threats of Brandon Aiyuk coming to Pittsburgh and encroaching on his targets could've been a thing for Pickens -- especially considering how long this back-and-forth has dragged on.

Instead, Pickens chose the high road when asked about the attention he's paid to the swirling rumors.

"Not really much; I told ya I just be with these guys in Latrobe chilling," Pickens told media from training camp on Wednesday. "I kind of lock in only on the Steelers. I hear about it, but not really indulging it."

That's the answer you want to hear. With the offseason-long buzz of whether Aiyuk is or isn't coming to Pittsburgh, you know Pickens has an opinion. His response shows maturity for someone who let emotions get the best of him last fall.

Pickens' next challenge will be to take the top receiving role by the reigns and show the NFL and fans he's got this.
