South Carolina interception pick-6 nullified after penalty by Kyle Kennard late in 4th quarter of LSU loss
South Carolina football defensive lineman Kyle Kennard made a devastating mistake late in the fourth quarter against LSU on Saturday.
Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw an interception near the goal line to defensive back Nick Emmanwori, who appeared to return the pass for a Gamecocks' touchdown that would've given them a 39-29 lead before the extra-point try.

However, on the return, Kennard was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after hitting Nussmeier, which called the return back. The turnover still stood, however, giving South Carolina the ball on its own 10-yard line.
South Carolina would go on to lose 36-33, with Alex Herrera barely hooking a field goal at the end of regulation to give the Tigers the win.
Kennard has been one of the Gamecocks' best players this season with 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in two games prior to the LSU matchup. The first-year transfer from Georgia Tech also had 1.5 sacks against the Tigers through nearly four quarters.
