LEXINGTON, Ky. — South Carolina football entered Lexington the underdog and left Kroger Field winners, defeating Kentucky 31-6.
The Gamecocks had betting odds against them after the 23-19 season-opening win against Old Dominion but battled through on the road to take full control of the SEC in Week 2. Saturday’s win marked the first time since 2017 that South Carolina won its SEC opener
Quarterback LaNorris Sellers exited the game with a reported leg injury but returned midway through the second quarter. Backup QB Robby Ashford, a transfer from Auburn, took over for Sellers when he was in the locker room. Sellers finished 11 of 15 for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
