LaNorris Sellers injury update: South Carolina QB returns after leg injury vs Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. — South Carolina football's starting quarterback LaNorris Sellers went to the locker room toward the end of the first quarter against Kentucky on Saturday.

According to ABC's sideline reporter Molly McGrath, Sellers was dealing with a right leg injury. Sellers then returned to the sideline nearing the end of the second quarter and went back in the game with 1:55 to play in the first half. He threw an interception on his second play after returning from injury.

Backup quarterback Robby Ashford, a transfer from Auburn, took over for the Gamecocks to start the second quarter when Sellers was in the locker room.

Sellers connected with Mazeo Bennett for a 24-yard touchdown to get things going for the Gamecocks.

Saturday is Sellers first SEC game as the new starting quarterback.
