Now that's impressive. The Atlanta Falcons came to the Caesars Superdome at 6-3 and left with a loss to the New Orleans Saints -- who got interim head coach Darren Rizzi his first win since taking over from Dennis Allen. The Saints won at home, 20-17, snapping their seven-week losing streak.

It was a good win. Derek Carr was effective, completing 16 passes for 25 yards without taking a sack; he picked up 269 yards and twice scored touchdowns throwing to veteran wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who totaled 109 yards on just 3 receptions. Alvin  Kamara ran for 55 yards and gained 54 through the air as a receiver, totaling 109 from scrimmage.

Defensively, linebacker Demario Davis led the team with 10 tackles plus a pass deflection. Safety Ugo Amadi played well in coverage with 9 tackles and a pass breakup, as well as 3  tackles for loss. Defensive linemen Cameron Jordan, Chase Young, and Payton Turner each had sacks. And defensive back  Tyrann Mathieu helped seal the win with an interception.

But the kicking game made all the difference. Blake Grupe made both of his field goals and two extra-point attempts. Matthew Hayball placed four of his five punts inside the 20-yard line. Their counterparts, Younghoe Koo and Bradley Pinion, missed three field goals and only placed one punt inside the 20.

This was a hard-fought win for Rizzi's team to help breathe in some fresh air and keep them alive in what had seemed to be a lost season. That they did it against a hated rival only makes it that much more special.
