Poll: Vote for the best high school football rivalry in Bucks County area

The Bucks County area possesses some impressive, longstanding high school football rivalries.

Neshaminy began playing Pennsbury in 1930, when the schools were known as Langhorne-Middletown and Fallsington.

Bristol and Morrisville are still playing on Thanksgiving, with the teams' first game dating back to 1928.

Pennridge and Quakertown first met in 1920 (then called Perkasie and Quakertown), with the Thanksgiving Day game tradition that continues today starting in 1930.

Hatboro-Horsham and Upper Moreland initially met in 1935 and the Thanksgiving rivalry continued through 2019. The teams play during the regular season now.

Bensalem and Woodrow Wilson, which became Harry S. Truman, appear to have first played in 1959.

Meanwhile, the oldest continuous rivalry in the U.S. is between Germantown Academy and Penn Charter. The schools have met every year since 1887, making this fall the 138th consecutive season they'll play.

More recent rivalries were created by the splitting of Central Bucks High School (CB East and CB West, starting in 1969) and Council Rock (CR North-CR South, 2002). Philadelphia Catholic League rivals La Salle and St. Joseph's Prep began playing in 1976.
