Peyton Manning attends Tennessee baseball vs Florida State in College World Series

OMAHA, Neb. − Peyton Manning is in Omaha again.

The Vols football legend attended Tennessee baseball's College World Series opener Friday against Florida State at Charles Schwab Field. It is the third time UT has appeared in the CWS in the past four years and the former Vols quarterback has attended a game in each of the three appearances.

No. 1 Tennessee (55-12) got started in the CWS against No. 8 Florida State (47-15) on Friday (7 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Manning was at UT's game against Texas on June 22, 2021. He also appeared for the Vols' game against LSU on June 17, 2023.

UT lost both games, playing into the theory that the Vols don't win when Manning is in attendance.

Manning threw out the first pitch prior to Tennessee's game against Arkansas at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on May 14, 2021. Vols catcher Connor Pavolony had Manning sign the ball, which the longtime NFL quarterback threw into the stands.

When Tennessee reached the CWS that season, Manning did a video with Vitello to teach the correct pronunciation of "Omaha." Manning, who has a production company named Omaha Productions, is famed for yelling "Omaha" as an audible at the line of scrimmage.
