Padres make three moves prior to MLB trade deadline

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Padres made some moves Tuesday on Major League Baseball’s trade deadline day.

First, the Padres exchanged left-handed pitchers, trading Ronaldys Jimenez for Pittsburgh Pirates’ Martín Pérez, the team announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, at 3:37 p.m.

Perez, a 13-year Major League veteran, has over 16 starts for the Pirates this season while posting a 2–5 record with a 5.20 ERA (48 ER, 83.0 IP) and 63 strikeouts.

The second trade involved trading away right-handed pitchers Envel De Los Santos and Thomas Balboni Jr. for outfielder Brandon Lockridge from the New York Yankees.

And the last trade was one with the Miami Marlins as the Padres traded right-handed pitcher Adam Mazur, left-hander Robby Snelling and infielder Jay Beshears for left-handed pitcher Tanner Scott and and right-hander Bryan Hoeing.
