Oregon football injury report: What we know as Ducks prepare to host Boise State

UPDATE: Jeffrey Bassa listed as questionable against Boise State

Starting inside linebacker Jeffrey Bassa has been listed as questionable on Oregon's official Big Ten Availability report for the Saturday's game against Boise State.

The senior was in and out of last week's win against Idaho and had been at practice this past week.

Also questionable for Saturday are right guard Matthew Bedford and wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. Both were questionable last week as well and neither played.

Ruled out for the game against the Broncos are defensive backs Jahlil Florence and Dakoda Fields, offensive lineman Dave Iuli, tight end Brashear, defensive lineman My'Keil Gardner and kicker Andrew Boyle.

Oregon's injury report from earlier in the week

Oregon's list of available players for the Boise State game doesn't look much different that what it was last week for Idaho.

The official availability report for the No. 6 Ducks will be announced by the Big Ten Conference around 5 p.m. Saturday — two hours before kickoff against the Broncos at Autzen Stadium.

Until then, here is an unofficial list of players who have known injuries, or who were officially listed as out or questionable for last week's win against the Vandals.

Matthew Bedford The projected starter at right guard was ruled out for an extended period of time four weeks ago after injuring his knee in fall camp. He was in uniform but didn't play against Idaho and was listed as questionable for the opener on the Big Ten availability report. Bedford was back participating in practice Tuesday and Wednesday during the 20-minute viewing window for media. Coach Dan Lanning said Wednesday that Bedford was "progressing well."

Andrew Boyle — The place kicker was listed as questionable for the game against Idaho and didn't play. He missed all of 2023 with a knee injury but was healthy enough from that injury to participate in spring practices. He has been at practice this week.

Travis Brashear — The reserve tight end was listed as out for the Idaho game for an undisclosed reason. He was dressed for practice Wednesday.

Gary Bryant Jr. The wide receiver and 10-game starter last season has been practicing this week after missing some time earlier in camp. He was listed as questionable and in uniform for last week's game against Idaho but didn't play.

Dakoda Fields — The freshman defensive back is out with a knee injury and there is no timetable for his return, Lanning said Aug. 28.

Jahlil Florence The nine-game starter at cornerback last season continues to work his way back from a knee injury that happened in November against Arizona State. He was listed as out for the Idaho game but has been in uniform at practice this week.

My’Keil Gardner The redshirt freshman, who was expected to provide depth along the defensive line this fall, is out for an extended period of time with an undisclosed injury.

“We’re anxious to get him back, but it won’t be something that happens overnight," Lanning said Aug. 28. "He’s going to be down for a little bit.”

Dave Iuli The veteran reserve guard is working his way back from a foot injury suffered in the spring. Iuli was listed as out for the Idaho game but has been participating in practice this week.

Ify Obidegwu — The freshman defensive back, who was listed as out for the Idaho game for an undisclosed reason, has been practicing this week.

Kobe Savage — The starting safety had what looked like a protective wrap or cast on his right wrist/lower forearm during practice Wednesday.
