The saga is officially over.

After a summer of speculation that included a trade request and an extended hold-in at training camp, Thursday marked the start of a new era for Brandon Aiyuk.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN and multiple other reports, Aiyuk agreed to a new four-year extension with the San Francisco 49ers worth $120 million. Aiyuk is now set to be a member of the 49ers for the next five seasons.

Via @AdamSchefter on Twitter:

Aiyuk is the latest wide receiver to secure a mega extension worth millions of dollars. Just this offseason, pass catchers like Dallas' CeeDee Lamb, Minneosta's Justin Jefferson, Miami's Jaylen Waddle and Detroit's Amon-Ra St. Brown have all signed new extensions during the offseason.

With Aiyuk now under contract for an average annual value of $30 million and Deebo Samuel making $23 million per season, the 49ers have two of the top-15 highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. Aiyuk will become the second highest-paid member of the 49ers, sliding in behind only pass rusher Nick Bosa.

Aiyuk alone will now be one of the top-paid wide receivers in all of football with only five players making more annually than the former Arizona State Sun Devil.

See where Aiyuk's new extension ranks with some of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL.
