Forwards

Viktor Arvidsson, RW, EDM vs. WPG (49% rostered)

Like Knies, Arvidsson gets the nod due to location. location, location. While Knies is on the top-line, Arvidsson has to "settle" for the second unit. However, in this case. that placement means that Arvidsson skates with Leon Draisaitl.

Arvidsson has historically shown that he is productive when healthy. It's the last two words of the prior sentence that is the issue with Arvidsson, as he consistently misses action. But fantasy is betting on talent and placement, and Arvidsson has both.

Andrei Kuzmenko, LW/RW, CGY at VAN (48% rostered)
From penthouse to outhouse could be the perfect way to describe Kuzmenko's two years in Vancouver. Evidence on just how poorly it ended in the Pacific Northwest is that 28-year-old winger had more points in 29 games with the Flames (25) than he had in 43 contests with the Canucks (21) prior to a midseason trade.

Compare those numbers to the 74 points he posted the prior season, his first in Vancouver, and see how quickly it turned. Now on the top line, both at even-strength and on the power-play in Calgary, Kuzmenko should once again rack up points.

Matthew Knies, LW, TOR at MTL (29% rostered)

Knies showed signs as a rookie of what the future could hold for the talented winger. On the flip side, consistency issues arose during the campaign, not surprising for a neophyte. As the puck is about to drop.

Knies, who notched 15 goals and added 20 helpers last season, is penciled in on the top line to the left of Auston Matthews. You don't really need us to tell you how prime that real estate is.

Reilly Smith, RW, NYR at PIT (8% rostered)

The Rangers have been searching for a linemate to pair with Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad since Pavel Buchnevich was dealt for pennies on the dollar to Blues.

After cycling through a parade of players, GM Chris Drury made a deal with a division rival, the Penguins, to bring in Smith, who is in the final year of his contract. Smith will get the first crack to fill that coveted position, and if he can stick there, he could hit the 20-goal mark for the fourth team in his career.

Alexander Holtz, RW, VEG vs. COL (1% rostered)

Holtz was once the seventh pick in the 2020 NHL draft by New Jersey. His career has been marked by stops and starts, as Holtz was never able to put it together for the Devils and seemingly was always on the trade block to bring in a bigger name player. Holtz was finally dealt, though not for the level of talent rumored to be coming in return.

Now with a fresh start in Vegas, Holtz could line up on a newly-created second line with Tomas Hertl and Pavel Dorofeyev with the Golden Knights dealing with a bot of a salary cap crunch. Look for him to take advantage of the opportunity.
