Nashville Predators' expected lineup for Game 1 against the Vancouver Canucks
VANCOUVER - The Nashville Predators begin their NHL playoff run on Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks, visiting Rogers Arena with a healthy, rested squad ready to make some noise on the road.
"There's going to be a lot of excitement here," Predators coach Andrew Brunette said at morning skate on Sunday. "The building's going to be loud, they haven't had a playoff game here in a while. It'll be a great atmosphere."
The Predators, as the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference, face the Canucks, the No. 2 seed, in a best-of-7 series. After Game 1 and Game 2 on Tuesday in Vancouver, the series shifts back to Nashville for Games 3 and 4 on April 26 and April 28.
Despite the challenges that come with playing on the road in the playoffs, Brunette hopes fans in Nashville see the same competitive team that earned them a playoff bid for the first time since 2022.
"I hope they see us playing to our identity, being who we are, not being anything different. Just being the best version of us. If we do that, we will be ok."
Nashville Predators' expected lineup for Game 1
The Predators' lineup is likely to be similar to what we've seen the last few weeks.
Brunette confirmed that Anthony Beauvillier will be in for Cody Glass, a pair that had exchanged positions in and out of the lineup the last few weeks. He also confirmed Alex Carrier will be in for Dante Fabbro; Carrier left early in the second period against the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 13 with an apparent injury, but returned to practice the following week.
