Who might return punts and kickoffs for Anthony Evans for Georgia football?
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Georgia football won't have punt and kick returner Anthony Evans for Saturday's game against Florida.
There are more than a half dozen players warming up to fill his spot.
On punt returns, Southern Cal transfer Michael Jackson, safety Malaki Starks, wide receiver Dominic Lovett and wide receiver Sacovie White appeared to be the players in line. They were catching balls off a machine.
Starks served as the punt returner twice in the first quarter.
For kickoffs, wide receiver Dillon Bell, running back Nate Frazier, running back Cash Jones and running back Trevor Etienne were catching balls off the foot of kicker Charlie Ham.
Evans, who has an undisclosed injury, is third in the SEC with an 8.4 punt return average with a long of 46. He also averages 17.5 yards on kickoff returns.
Jackson had 70 return yards on 11 punts for Southern Cal in 2022.
