Memphis Grizzlies announce date, time for annual open practice for fans

The Memphis Grizzlies have announced plans for their annual open practice this season

The event will be held Oct. 6 at FedExForum from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Open practice is where fans will be able to watch the players practice in drills and a controlled scrimmage for free. Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins also greets the fans, and other players will get in on the entertainment as well.

This is expected to be the first time many fans get to see Grizzlies stars Ja Morant, Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. sharing the floor together with rookie first-round pick Zach Edey. Morant and Edey have already spent time working out together, plus Bane and Jackson have done the same.

FedExForum has been undergoing renovations to the rigging grid and sound system this offseason. Due to those renovations, the Grizzlies will begin preseason training in Nashville at Ensworth High School on Oct. 1. Memphis will spend three days practicing in Nashville.

Memphis will continue its preseason practices by returning to Memphis. After the open practice on Oct. 6, the Grizzlies will travel to Dallas for their preseason opener Oct. 7 against the Mavericks. Memphis will play its first home preseason matchup versus the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 10.
