Memphis football flips Old Dominion OT transfer Chris Adams from Washington
Memphis football has picked up another transfer, landing Old Dominion's Chris Adams just days after he had committed to Washington.
Adams started all 13 games for the Monarchs at the tackle positions in 2023. He has two years of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-6, 286-pound Maryland native had announced his commitment to Washington in a social media post Wednesday, but announced on Monday that he had flipped to Memphis.

He'll join an offensive line that will look entirely different from last season's. Xavier Hill likely will move from tackle to guard, while Jonah Gambill likely will play center. Adams figures to be in the mix for the tackle spots with South Carolina transfer Jaylen Nichols, Louisiana-Monroe transfer Keydrell Lewis and Iowa Central CC transfer Jonathan Young.
Adams is the third commit of the spring for the Tigers, who picked up commitments from UMass transfer running back Greg Desrosiers Jr. and on Sunday, Oklahoma transfer defensive end Reggie Grimes II.
Adams also is a former Monarchs teammate of running back Blake Watson, who transferred to Memphis in 2023 after four seasons at Old Dominion. Watson is now with the Denver Broncos.
