How many Georgia football players were picked in the 2024 NFL draft? See every selection
Georgia football will continue to add to its list of draft picks during the 2024 NFL draft in Detroit. Georgia is likely to have up to 10 players picked by NFL teams and has a few more in the undrafted free agent pool that could sign with teams after the draft.
This year's draft class may have a hard time reaching the high bar of Kirby Smart's most recent batches of players that went to the NFL. Georgia tied for the most draft picks of all schools last year with 10 and that followed 15 in 2022, an NFL record for a seven-round draft going back to 1994.
Here's what you need to know about each of the players picked in the 2024 NFL draft:
Here's what you need to know about each of the players picked in the 2024 NFL draft:
TE Brock Bowers: Las Vegas Raiders, first round (13th overall)
Brock Bowers went No. 13 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round. As expected, he was the first tight end selected.
Bowers led the Bulldogs in receiving in all three of his college seasons, winning two national championships and two Mackey Awards for nation’s top tight end along the way.
He’s closer to his home in Napa, Calif, now in Nevada.
OT Amarius Mims, Cincinnati Bengals (18th overall)
Amarius Mims went No. 18 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round. He was the fifth offensive tackle selected and third Georgia offensive tackle selected in the first round since 2020.
Mims started only eight games at Georgia, but Kirby Smart said he considered him like a starter before he broke into the lineup because he was part of a rotation and got into games early.
WR Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers (34th overall)
After seven wide receivers went in the first round, McConkey was the second wide receiver off the board in the second round. The Chargers traded up to take him.
Not too shabby for a player that was lightly recruited out of North Murray High and spent his first season at Georgia on the scout team.
CB Kamari Lassiter, Houston Texans (42nd overall)
Georgia’s first defensive player of the draft has been selected. It’s cornerback Kamari Lassiter who went to the Houston Texans with pick No. 42 overall.
The Savannah native was the sixth cornerback selected. He went in a run of four straight cornerbacks.
Lassiter is just the second ever Georgia player drafted by the Texans after fourth round center Ben Jones in 2012.
DB Javon Bullard, Houston Texans (58th overall)
A second Georgia defensive back has been taken in the second round.
Safety/nickel back Javon Bullard went with the No. 58 overall pick to the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers already have three former Georgia players on its defense: linebacker Quay Walker, defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt and cornerback Eric Stokes.
DB Tykee Smith, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (89th overall)
A third Georgia defensive back has been selected on Day 2 of the draft.
Tampa Bay selected nickel back/safety Tykee Smith with pick No. 89.
The Buccaneers staff now includes former Georgia wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon who saw Smith up close at Georgia. Bucs coach Todd Bowles also has his eye on Georgia with his son Troy a Bulldogs inside linebacker.
C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, Buffalo Bills (141st overall)
Georgia's first Day 3 selection is center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger to Buffalo in the fifth round at pick No. 141.
He was the fifth center taken as listed by NFL.com. He is being pegged as Mitch Morse's replacement with the Bills, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.
DL Zion Logue, Atlanta Falcons (197th overall)
A second Georgia player has been selected on the final day of the NFL draft.
The Atlanta Falcons picked defensive tackle Zion Logue in the sixth round with the 197th overall pick.
The 6-foot-5 ½, 314-pound Logue is a run-stopper who had 17 tackles including 2 ½ for loss last season with 2 pass breakups last season.
