How many Clemson football players were picked in 2024 NFL draft? See every selection

CLEMSON — Clemson football will add to its list of draft picks during the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.

The Tigers have 10 players eligible to be picked by NFL teams, and six of them were invited to the NFL combine: running back Will Shipley, defensive end Xavier Thomas, linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr., cornerback Nate Wiggins and defensive tackles Tyler Davis and Ruke Orhorhoro.

This year's draft class would rank behind last year's group that featured six players drafted, including defensive linemen Myles Murphy and Bryan Bresee in the first round. In 2022, only defensive back Andrew Booth and receiver Baylon Spector were selected.

Where will they go? And will any other former Clemson players have their names called or land with NFL teams as undrafted free agents?

CB Nate Wiggins: Baltimore Ravens, first round (30th overall)

Wiggins went 30th overall to the Baltimore Ravens after Clemson's top prospect fell to the reigning AFC North champions.

Wiggins led the Clemson Tigers in pass deflections in back-to-back seasons as a two-year starter and rose up draft boards after running 4.28 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine. He is expected to play opposite of star cornerback Marlon Humphrey under first-year defensive coordinator Zach Orr.

DT Ruke Orhorhoro: Atlanta Falcons, second round (35th overall)

Orhorhoro went 35th overall to the Atlanta Falcons after they traded up with the Arizona Cardinals.

Orhorhoro stole the show at the NFL Combine after accumulating 25 tackles (eight for loss) and five sacks in 2023 with the Tigers. He will join former Clemson players Grady Jarrett, A.J. Terrell, Ray-Ray McCloud III and Bradley Pinion on the Falcons.

RB Will Shipley: Philadelphia Eagles, fourth round (127th overall)

Shipley went 127th overall to the Philadelphia Eagles, becoming Clemson's first offensive player selected in the draft.

Shipley finished top 10 in school history in touchdowns (33), 100-yard rushing games (10) and all-purpose yards (4,253). He ran 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash at Clemson’s pro day, which would have ranked him third among backs at the combine. The 5-foot-11 back joins running backs Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Gainwell in Philadelphia.

DE Xavier Thomas: Arizona Cardinals, fifth round (138th overall)

Thomas went 138th overall to the Cardinals after playing six seasons with Clemson.

Thomas recorded 133 tackles (34 for loss, including 17.5 acks) and nine pass deflections in his collegiate career. He is an explosive edge rusher, running 4.62 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the combine and logging 4.56 at Clemson's pro day.

LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr.: Philadelphia Eagles, fifth round (155th overall)

Trotter went 155th overall to the Eagles, joining the team that his dad was drafted by in 1998.

During his two seasons as a Clemson starter, Trotter recorded 177 tackles, including 28.5 for loss (13 sacks), and had 14 pass breakups and four interceptions. He joins Shipley in Philadelphia and looks to continue his father's legacy in the pros.

DT Tyler Davis: Los Angeles Rams, sixth round (196th overall)

Davis went 196th overall to the Rams, joining former Clemson tight end Davis Allen.

Davis earned first-team All-ACC honors from 2021 through 2023. In 56 career games (52 starts), he logged 144 tackles (29.5 for loss), 16 sacks and three pass deflections. At the NFL combine, he tied for second among defensive tackles in the bench press with 29 reps.

Clemson undrafted free agents

Here's a list of potential undrafted free agents who could sign with NFL teams:

CB Sheridan Jones

Jones recorded 50 tackles (3.5 for loss), two pass deflections and one interception as a starter the past two seasons. He did not receive a combine invitation but could be a potential late-round flier or UDFA pickup.

OL Will Putnam

A four-year starter on Clemson's offensive line, Putnam played two seasons at guard and two at center. He logged 3,563 snaps, which is the second most in Tigers history. He played in more than 60 games, including 49 starts.

DL Justin Mascoll

Mascoll spent six seasons with Clemson and finished 2023 with 20 tackles (four for loss), one sack, one forced fumble and two pass deflections. It was his only season as a starter.

DB Jalyn Phillips

Phillips logged 26 tackles (two for loss), four pass deflections and one sack in nine games (eight starts) last season.
