LSU baseball vs North Carolina prediction, odds for NCAA tournament regionals

LSU baseball is looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament super regionals.

Standing in its way is North Carolina.

The No. 2 Tigers (43-22) and No. 1 Tar Heels (44-14) square off in the Chapel Hill Regional final on Monday (5 p.m., ESPN+) at Boshamer Stadium.

UNC won 6-2 in the first meeting Saturday between the two teams in the NCAA regional bracket, but the Tigers got their revenge Sunday, outlasting the Heels 8-4 to set up the rematch in the if-necessary game.

Dating back to last season, the Tigers have won five straight elimination NCAA Tournament games. LSU won two on Sunday, beating Wofford 13-6 in its first game before winning the nightcap versus North Carolina.

Before splitting games with LSU, the Tar Heels beat Long Island 11-8.

LSU 9, North Carolina 8: LSU's bats have come alive at the right time and against the shorter end of North Carolina's pitching staff. I expect LSU to score plenty of runs. The Tigers will win a back-and-forth game in which the lead will change a couple of times.
