Will Levis returns to Tennessee Titans practice Thursday with feet, ankles heavily taped
Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis returned to practice on Thursday with two heavily taped feet and ankles and sporting a limp at times during the media viewing window but nevertheless participating in individual quarterback drills.
Levis is dealing with a right foot injury this week as the Titans (5-11) prepare for their final game of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7) at Nissan Stadium on Sunday (noon, CBS). The foot injury is compounded with his lingering left ankle injury that he's dealt with for three weeks and kept him out of the Titans' game on Christmas Eve.
Will Levis injury update
Levis did not practice Wednesday. He and coach Mike Vrabel have both said the team is taking the wait-and-see approach and trusting team doctors before making any decisions about Levis' status for Sunday. If Levis is unable to go, the Titans will turn to veteran Ryan Tannehill, an impending free agent who could be playing his last game in a Titans uniform after five seasons with the team.
The Titans are 3-6 in Levis' nine starts this season. The rookie has thrown eight touchdowns with four interceptions and led one game-winning drive. He's been knocked out of his last two starts with injuries, as the Titans' offensive line has allowed the third-most sacks in the NFL and the highest percentage of pressures per dropback.
Tannehill has led the Titans to two wins and five losses in his seven starts. He played more than half of last week's game in relief of Levis after the rookie hurt his foot, throwing no touchdowns or interceptions in the effort.
