Tennessee Titans injury report: QB Will Levis describes his foot pain, misses practice
All Will Levis can do at this point is rehab. And tell jokes.
Levis, the Tennessee Titans' rookie quarterback, missed practice Wednesday as he deals with injuries to his right foot and left ankle, with the team preparing for its Week 18 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7) at Nissan Stadium on Sunday (noon, CBS).
He has been battling the ankle injury for weeks after aggravating it Dec. 17, but the foot injury is newer. He was knocked out of last Sunday's game against the Houston Texans after a defender stepped on his foot in the process of a sack.
He isn't having any trouble walking. He doesn't have to wear braces or bandages. He showed up to his media session Wednesday wearing fluffy slide-on slippers and no socks despite the fact that temperatures hovered at about 40 degrees. And he had a sense of humor about what he's dealing with when asked if he's struggling to figure out which leg he should be limping with.
"It’s evened out," he said.
Levis said he's rehabbing the injuries and his goal is still to play this weekend to end his season on a positive note. He says the pain is just that — it hurts when he steps down or pushes off his foot. The foot injury is similar to the ankle injury that both are, as Levis puts it, annoying.
If he can't return for the game against the Jaguars, the Titans will turn to veteran Ryan Tannehill.
