High school football in Lafayette Parish and its surrounding areas is approaching mid-season as a handful of teams kick off District play in Week 4.

Last week, 22 teams hailing from the 337 came away with a win as they ran up the score against their respective opponents. For some of those teams that means extending their perfect season. The undefeated area teams entering Week 4 are Teurlings Catholic, Westgate, Vermilion Catholic, New Iberia, Ascension Episcopal, Opelousas Catholic, Erath, Lafayette, Jeanerette and St. Edmund.

For other teams such as Carencro, Loreauville, Eunice, Breaux Bridge, Comeaux, Abbeville and Beau Chene it's the complete opposite as they are still in search of their first win of the season. Facing familiar foes during district play provides the perfect opportunity for these teams as Week 4 will sure to be filled with dogfight matchups.
