Kam Chancellor, Lawyer Milloy and Garry Gilliam visited Seahawks training camp
Yesterday, the Seattle Seahawks had a trio of familiar faces stop by training camp. Among the visitors were safties Kam Chancellor and Lawyer Milloy, as well as former offensive tackle Garry Gilliam. These three join Seattle Mariners manager Scott Servais as the most notable visitors at Seahawks training camp so far this summer.
Seattle has done an exceptional job at maintaining relationships with its former players, who often find their way back to the Seahawks regardless of how the playing career ended with them. It is always good to see Chancellor, Milloy and Gilliam back in the fold.
I asked Macdonald about talking to Kam
Chancellor (who is in the black hat there). Said he's still amazed Chancellor was able to play safety at that size. https://t.co/QpE9GgttrC— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta) August 5, 2024

Kam Chancellor himself obviously needs no introduction. A lifelong Seahawk, Chancellor was a force to be reckoned with during his eight years putting the BOOM in the Legion of Boom. Chancellor's best moments came in the postseason, setting the tone in Super Bowl XLVIII and his iconic pick-six against the Carolina Panthers in the Divisional Round.
But before Chancellor could run, there was Lawyer Milloy to help the Seahawks secondary walk. Milloy joined the Seahawks in 2009 during the lone year of the ill-fated Jim Mora Jr. era. He stuck around during the first year of the Pete Carroll regime, and as the starting strong safety helped the 7-9 Seahawks earn a playoff victory over the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.
As for Garry Gilliam, he is a name that only the true 12's out there will instantly recognize, as he played a crucial role in one of the most monumental victories in Seattle sports history. Trailing 16-0 to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game, the Seahawks were about as listless as a team could get. Until punter Jon Ryan help bring a much-needed spark, when he found Gary Gilliam - a former tight end - in the end zone for a touchdown on a fake field goal. The score helped turn the tide as Seattle eventually came back to win 28-22 in overtime to return to the Super Bowl.
A fake field goal. A successful onside kick. A prayer of a two-point conversion...

As far as I am concerned, all three will always be welcome back at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.
