Josh Allen injury: Buffalo Bills quarterback slow to get up after losing fumble
The Buffalo Bills' trick play almost got Josh Allen treated for an injury.
Buffalo's quarterback took a big hit as he lost a fumble on a strip sack in the third quarter against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
On second-and-7 from the Ravens' 44, offensive coordinator Joe Brady dialed up a trick play. Curtis Samuel took a direct snap and pitched the ball back to Allen. Baltimore linebacker Kyle Van Noy leaped and knocked the ball out of Allen's hand as Allen was rearing back to throw. Allen then took a shot from defensive tackle Travis Jones. Safety Kyle Hamilton recovered the fumble.
Allen was slow to get up. He walked to the bench and had a brief conversation with the team doctor and a trainer.
Allen slammed his tablet on the ground in frustration and warmed up on the sideline.
"It was more just my low back hitting the ground than anything," Allen said after the game. "I'm good."
