Jaysoni Beachum named ACC Freshman of the Year; Eight FSU softball players earn All-ACC honors
The Florida State softball team was well represented on the ACC postseason awards on Wednesday afternoon. Jaysoni Beachum became FSU's ninth player to win the ACC Freshman of the Year award, while eight Seminoles were named to the three All-ACC teams. Four Seminoles were also named to the All-Freshman Team.
Beachum was terrific in conference play, leading the team with a .425 batting average. She hit five home runs and drove in 25 runs. In ACC play, she drew 12 walks and was hit by four pitches to post a team-high .511 on-base percentage.
Joining Beachum on the All-ACC First Team was Kalei Harding, Kaley Mudge and Michaela Edenfield. Harding and Edenfield each earned their first All-ACC First Team honors, while Mudge was a First Team honoree in 2022.
Devyn Flaherty earned her fourth consecutive All-ACC honor by being named to the All-ACC Second Team. Flaherty was joined by two freshmen, Ashtyn Danley and Isa Torres.
Jahni Kerr rounded out FSU's selections as she was named the All-ACC Third Team, earning her second consecutive All-ACC honor.
FSU also named four players to the ACC All-Freshman Team, including Beachum, Danley, Torres, and Kennedy Harp.
FSU will start its journey for its 20th ACC Championship when it takes on the winner of Notre Dame and North Carolina at 5 p.m. on the ACC Network.
