Jaren Jackson Jr. scores 30 as Memphis Grizzlies hold off Magic for third straight win.

The Orlando Magic kept creeping. Each time forward Jaren Jackson Jr. made a shot to give the Memphis Grizzlies some breathing room, Magic star Paolo Banchero responded.

The Grizzlies' lead was down to two points when Jackson, a step inside the free-throw line, leaned toward the basket and shot a left-handed floater over the Magic defense with 1:21 left in the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies got one more defensive stand in the final seconds as they held on to win Friday 107-106 at FedExForum.

The Grizzlies (18-27) have won three straight games. Orlando (23-22) was led by Banchero, who had 27 points.

Jackson led the Grizzlies with a game-high 30 points.

Here are some takeaways from the game.

Jaren Jackson Jr. dominance

A road game against the Magic last season was one of Jackson's most dominant breakout offensive performances. The run of Grizzlies injuries have led to Jackson carrying a bigger load, and that was just fine Friday. Orlando's personnel struggled to deal with his combination of strength and mobility. Banchero picked up two early fouls attempting to guard Jackson, and he had to play through foul trouble for the remainder of the first half.

Grizzlies catch fire early on 3-pointers

Starting Santi Aldama and John Konchar alongside Jackson, Vince Williams Jr. and Luke Kennard give the Grizzlies five players who can catch fire from deep at any moment. Each starter made a 3-pointer against Orlando, and the 3-pointer was a big reason for the Grizzlies' offensive success. They made 12 of 22 shots in the first half before cooling off.

They made two of their next 11 3-point tries before Kennard knocked down a corner triple that gave the Grizzlies a nine-point lead early in the fourth quarter after the Magic were threatening. Memphis finished the game shooting 15-for-41 on 3's.

Ziaire Williams leads bench production

This game wasn't dominated by just the starters. All 10 available Grizzlies made an impact. Ziaire Williams led the bench with 17 points. David Roddy scored just three points, but he had a game-high nine rebounds. GG Jackson made both of his shots, and Xavier Tillman Sr.'s defensive versatility was on display. Memphis finished with 30 bench points.

What's next

The Grizzlies will head back on the road for a matchup against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday (2:30 p.m. CT, Bally Sports Southeast). Memphis won the first meeting at FedExForum on Dec. 19. Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has missed the past four games due to a hamstring injury. His status for Sunday is unknown.
